Technical Author - Quick Reference Guide

Job Description :

We have an awesome client in the Metro Detroit area that is looking for a Technical Author to join their Quick Reference Guide Team.

 

In this role the author would be responsible for developing technically accurate and concise instructions for vehicle owners. The individual is expected to research a variety of raw data to determine applicability and functionality of vehicle features. This will be a fast paced role with strict deadlines to ensure on-time delivery to the customer. 

 

Other Technical Author responsibilities:



  • Research OEM design and release documents, plant installation drawings, and other technical service bulletins.

  • Follow current content development procedures, processes, to ensure deliverable expectations are met.

  • Document open issues and follow through on a resolution

  • Identify areas for operational improvement through process or technology adjustments

  • Manage content for a variety of regions and markets

  • Schedule/participate in vehicle validation

  • LCA/Trisoft 

  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign)


Technical Author candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, and experience either in technical writing, or comparable work experience.
