Global manufacturer has an opening for a contract Quality Management Specialist I at their Wyandotte, MI, site.
THIS IS A LONG-TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF DIRECT HIRE FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE AND A PAY RATE OF $ 26.00/HOUR.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring quality assurance and regulatory compliance for various manufacturing, testing, and handling processes of FDA and USDA-regulated products. The ideal candidate will bring experience in auditing, problem-solving, and working with cross-functional teams to uphold our quality standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits and maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3 standards.
- Utilize problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa to resolve quality issues.
- Manage PPAP and APQP processes and ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements.
- Maintain and improve document control processes.
- Oversee and manage customer complaint processes and develop resolution strategies in coordination with Legal, investigators, and stakeholders.
- Conduct training for teams on NCM systems, quality management, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide oversight and ensure compliance with Kosher and Halal programs.
- Review and approve labels and technical documents, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
- Act as a liaison for manufacturing sites and provide QA oversight for warehousing activities.
- Support FDA and USDA compliance initiatives and other regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality and regulatory roles with knowledge of FDA and USDA requirements.
- Proven expertise in IATF/ISO auditing, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong written and oral communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while fostering effective cross-functional relationships.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, and customer-specific requirements.
- Strong proficiency in document control and quality management systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kosher and Halal program management.
