Job Description :

We are looking for a Purchasing professional who has manufacturing experience that can step into the purchasing role, while also analyzing our current buying process and create the best methods for day-to-day purchasing operations. This position is responsible for all purchasing, establishing Buyer goals based on corporate inventory needs and sales projections for the coming year. Experience using Sage software is beneficial, however it’s not a deal breaker for the right person. 

Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm.  We normally carry about $2M in inventory.  Purchased materials include; fasteners, flat sheet steel, shipping materials, ceramic tile, screws, bolts, and R & D supplies for engineering. Our manufacturing machinery used includes; punch dies, presses, rivet guns, and a press machine called the Amada that punches out flat steel into various shapes and sizes.  The ideal candidate will be personable, have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and report to the owners any issues or changes within our inventory. 


  • Propose and implement improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower our costs

  • Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year

  • Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses

  • Manage the company's day-to-day purchasing activities

Required Qualifications :

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Administration or a related field (preferred)

  • APICS certification (beneficial)

  • Sage 100 software experience (beneficial)

  • 4+ years' purchasing experience

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management required

  • Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies required
