Major utility company in downtown Detroit is looking for a contract Project Manager with experience in Construction Management to join their team!
This long-term contract role (possibility for extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $42/hour.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and completion of home repair and energy efficiency projects for our Income Qualified programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for making a difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Collaborate with contractors and program teams to meet project goals.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Quality Control: Ensure all construction work meets industry standards and complies with regulations. Perform regular site inspections to monitor progress.
- Communication: Maintain strong communication with the program team, contractors, and customers, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
- Risk Management and Safety: Anticipate potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Enforce safety protocols on all job sites.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate project documentation, including contracts, timelines, and progress reports. Prepare and present updates to management and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience, particularly in low-income housing or home repair.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, leadership, and team management skills.
- Strong proficiency in project management software.
- Commitment to improving living conditions for low-income families.
