Project Estimator- Construction
Our client, a major utility company, is looking to add an estimator to their construction project team.
These contract positions (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offer a starting pay rate of $69.50/hour (benefits are available).
These positions will be working a Hybrid schedule (up to 3 days/week in the office).
Job Summary
The Estimator assists the project management teams by developing, monitoring and updating estimates and/or an integrated project plan so that the project may be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
The Estimator provides expertise and develops methods and techniques, standards, processes, procedures, guidelines and templates to efficiently manage, develop, and control project estimates.
- Supports project team and estimating personnel efforts toward the development of the project plan and translating the project plan into the project estimate.
- Develops and provides analysis of project estimates, including, as applicable.
- Ensures the credibility of the information contained in the estimate.
- Assists with the preparation of project time and/or cost claims.
- Develops and records project historical estimate information and lessons learned.
- Applies methodologies, techniques and tools, software, standards and guidelines for estimating and/or planning; knowledgeable in application of estimating software and application of the software.
- Ensures that required project estimating and/or planning controls are appropriately implemented and maintained.
- Participates in continuous improvement of the estimating organization through benchmarking and maintaining affiliations with industry estimating organizations and local and national chapters.
Qualifications
Required
- High School or GED, & 7+ years of job-relevant experience.
-OR- - Associate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Business Administration or a related field and the knowledge/capabilities typically acquired through 5+ years of job-relevant experience.
-OR- - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Business Administration or a related field and the knowledge/capabilities typically acquired through 3+ years of job-relevant experience
Preferred
- Estimator: 2+ years of engineering experience/background in estimating on large construction projects
- Facilities/Commercial, Industrial, and Electrical Work Focus
- Estimating all project cost (i.e., engineering, design, project management, construction, commissioning, etc.)
