Our client, A chemical manufacturer, is looking for a Process Technician to join their team in Budd Lake, NJ.  

 

This is a long-term contract with the possibility of an extension or direct hire. 











Position: Process Technician
Pay Rate: $25 - $35/hour


Job Summary:
The Process Technician will work closely with the product development scientist to support research and development for engineering plastics. This role requires performing various technical tasks to support the production of new and existing plastic products.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lab Service Requests: Review and execute lab service requests for blending, compounding, and molding processes.

  • Machine Operation: Operate extruders, molding machines, feeders, and auxiliary equipment efficiently and safely.

  • Material Preparation: Weigh and blend raw materials for experimental formulations, ensuring accurate measurements before compounding.

  • Mold Management: Operate injection molding machines, conduct mold changes, and optimize mold process conditions.

  • Data Collection: Collect and accurately report data from experiments, maintaining meticulous records.

  • Safety Compliance: Wear required safety equipment and adhere to all company-established Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Fork Truck Operation: Safely operate and maintain a fork truck, understanding the importance of process safety.

  • Inventory Management: Manage raw materials, developmental samples, and commercial product inventories.

  • Heavy Lifting: Safely lift up to a maximum of 55 lbs. as required.

  • Fork Truck Certification: Hold a valid fork truck license and experience with all lifting equipment (fork-truck, pallet jacks, drum handlers).

  • Physical Requirements: Comfortable working in an outdoor plant environment with standing for extended periods and some light lifting (up to 40 lbs.).

  • Computer Skills: Strongly preferred to manage data recording and reporting.








Required Qualifications :
 

Qualifications:



  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Pilot Plant setting, preferred.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills required for equipment management and operation.

  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current vehicle insurance.

  • Safety Orientation: Highly safety-focused with experience adhering to strict safety protocols.

  • Paper Mill Experience: Previous paper mill experience is preferred.
