Global manufacturer has an immediate need for a Packaging Associate on the 1st Shift for their facility in St. Louis, MO.
This long-term contract position has a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. (Possible extension or direct hire. Benefits Available)
Job Title: Production Line Operator – 1st Shift
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a dependable and dedicated Production Line Operator to join their team. The role involves manual case erecting, packing, and pallet stacking while ensuring smooth operation of the production line, including cartridge packaging, lid application, coding, labeling, and product quality control.
Work Hours:
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the smooth operation of the production line.
- Ensure correct components, coding, and labels are used during production.
- Continuously improve production processes through cleaning and setting adjustments.
- Monitor product quality and communicate any damage or discrepancies to the QC department.
- Recommend maintenance or adjustments to ensure continuous and efficient production.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment through regular cleaning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure dependability by reporting to work on time and providing notice of absences when necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 40-60 lbs. up to 20-30 times per hour.
- Ability to stand for 8-9 hours per day.
- Frequent bending; minimal climbing.
Working Conditions:
- Temperature: 70-75°F.
- Air Quality: Minimal dust.
- Lighting: Well-lit working environment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- Steel-toe work boots or shoes.
- Safety glasses.
- Gloves as required for specific tasks.
- Ear protection when operating equipment.
Qualifications:
- Physically capable of working on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand production documents, safety data sheets (SDS), and safety information.
- Prior production or mechanical experience is helpful but not required.
