SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the shift Team Leader, performs all tasks necessary to ensure customers receive quality parts in a timely manner.  Performs start-ups, material set-up, regular visual inspection, problem solving, labeling of molded product and ensures conformance with established acceptance criteria. Maintains a high level of accuracy in a clean and efficient manner.


 


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Performs tool set-up


-  Performs start-ups as required.


-  Provides information to team leader about possible issues with material such as low inventory or contamination.


-  Cleans the hoppers and dryers on molding machines.


-  Responsible for material set-up at assigned press.


-  Removes all previously run parts and material from the press.  (This includes cleaning any parts from the rails and oil catch trays on the press.)


- Reports concerns to Team Leader and provides follow up as requested


- Using Proplast, monitors and ensures stability of process.


Audits variations to mold set-ups (air flow, oil leaks, water leaks, hoses connected), process-actual to process sheet, and process alarms.


- Performs required in-process inspection of all production and maintains inspection documentation as identified in Company procedures. Reports defects found to the Team Leader and Quality Technician.


-  Assists in containment actions including identification of a “clean point” and coordinating the sorting of any suspect nonconforming products.


- Participates and coordinates real time root cause analysis in conjunction with other team members.


- Authorized to shut down a press until the root cause and corrective actions are identified.


- Initiates tool work orders as required.


- Packages, labels, and scans all molded product appropriately.


- Verifies the label is correct, per job card, and in proper location on the carton.


- Reports scrap generated on daily basis to team leader.


- Responsible for 5-S in their assigned area by maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times, as well as ensuring all previously run parts and materials have been removed from the press area and any spilled product is cleaned immediately.


- Assists with physical inventory when necessary.


- Carries out other responsibilities as outlined in the Company policies and procedures.


- Assists the Molding Department in continuously improving the integrity of the department.




 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


§  High school diploma or equivalent / some college preferred.


§  Minimum of one to three (3) years of experience in injection molding with a strong understanding of molding parameters, materials, and process controls.


§  Good decision making skills


§  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


§  Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.


§  Strong team player.


§  Strong methodical attributes with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


§  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).


§  Ability to work with minimum supervision.










Required Qualifications :








 Must be able to train on 1st shift for a few weeks and then transfer to 2nd or 3rd shift.
