LIMS Implementation/Business Continuity Analyst
Overview
Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, is looking for a scientific IT professional to work onsite with their team in Wyandotte, MI.
THIS IS A LONG TERM CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION OR DIRECT HIRE WITH A PAY RATE OF $40/HOUR
Primary task for this role will be to support business continuity of laboratories (Research and quality control laboratories) by maintaining and improving IT hardware and software solutions used in these labs.
You will be responsible for planning and implementing lab-specific digitalization projects in close co-operation with lab users, internal IT colleagues and external companies.
You will manage incident/change/project request assigned to you according priority and use agile methodologies and tools such as Kanban board, Confluence Jira ticketing system to document your activities.
Your effective written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you will be successfully engaging across the organization and be available to your customers and colleagues with your expertise in science and information technology and can present your work results to them in a manner geared toward specific target groups.
Your strong leadership and project management ability will be essential as you lead development and implementation of possible new laboratory digitalization initiatives at different sites in North America.
Your technical knowledge of modern laboratory environment will be critical as you provide support at several sites in North America.
Qualifications
- Degree in Science
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, scientific data management, and research processes
- Recent experience analyzing and coordinating Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) business continuity (preferably from vendor Labvantage or Labware), Chromatography Data System (CDS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), Chemical Inventory Systems and Statistical Process Control software.
- Coordination and communication skills that are well equipped to drive initiatives to a successful ending while juggling competing priorities effectively.
- Cyber-security basic principles and segregated IT network concept.
- Agile methodologies and additionally familiarize yourself with new topics quickly.
- Creative and communicative person with a well-organized and solution-oriented working style.
- Approachable demeanor with ability to move confidently within an international, multicultural, and interdisciplinary team environment
- Programming skills are highly desired
