Job Description :
Our client, a major chemical manufacturer, is seeking an Industrial Mechanical Technician to play a critical role in maintaining and improving their operations at their Parma, ID facility!

  

These long-term contract positions (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right individual) offer a starting pay rate of $35/hour (benefits are available).

 

Key Responsibilities:





  • Perform scheduled tasks and repair equipment breakdowns promptly.

  • Maintain and improve equipment reliability through troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

  • Work with maintenance supervision, technicians, engineers, and production personnel to design and modify plant equipment.

  • Repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including:

    • Mechanical seals

    • Gearboxes

    • Drive couplings

    • Agitators

    • Pumps

    • Rigging

    • Welding and pipe fabrication



  • Operate general shop equipment such as band saws, drill presses, grinders, and power tools.

  • Follow all safety regulations, maintain housekeeping standards, and actively participate in safety meetings.

  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for production demands, with availability for overtime, weekends, and after-hours work as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Computer literacy and basic proficiency with software tools.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Capability to bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb ladders, and reach above shoulder level.

  • Manual dexterity for wrist turning, finger manipulation, and grasping.

  • Comfortable working at elevated heights and within hazardous locations.
