Our client, a major health insurance company, is looking for some Health Care Appeals Clerks to join their team in Long Beach, CA! 

 

This is a contract position currently budgeted at $14.50/hour for 3 months with the potential for contract extension or a permanent hire based on performance!



This role is a blend of remote and onsite work. The expectation is that the Clerk will be onsite one week per month via a rotating schedule to perform scanning and mail functions for the department. 





ONLY CANDIDATES LOCAL TO THE LONG BEACH, CA, AREA WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE. 





Overview 




The Appeals Clerk is responsible for reviewing incoming and outgoing mail, completing intake of all incoming appeals and grievances (faxes, mail, system), data entry into the A&G tracking system, identifying and redirecting requests that require rerouting


 





 


This role is a blend of remote and onsite work. The expectation is that the Clerk will be onsite one week per month via a rotating schedule to perform scanning and mail functions for the department.





 



 

Required Qualifications :
Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED 

  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office or other comparable software 

  • Excellent customer service skills 

  • Experience with Health Care Claims or Appeals & Grievances Case Intake is strongly preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet established deadlines 

  • Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
