Job Description :

Our client is looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator at their manufacturing facility in Mishawaka!


 


This is a LONG-TERM contract role with the potential to go direct in 2022. The hourly pay rate for the contract role will be in the range of $24-32/hour and based on experience. 


 


The Health and Safety Coordinator assists in strategic leadership for overall compliance with Federal, State, Local, Contractual and Plant Safety, Security and Fire Protection requirements. 




The Health and Safety Coordinator will also be responsible for all safety/ergonomic activities for the facility relating to compliance, training, problem solving and countermeasures. They will work with facility operating management to provide expertise and expedite safety projects and solutions.Position builds relationships with facility management, union representation and engagement of employee work force in safety.


 


 


Looking for experience with:



  • Federal, State, Local, Contractual, security, and fire safety compliance

  • Safety training

  • Overseeing safety projects and solutions

  • Union representation

  • Communicating with community organizations of law enforcement, fire protection, and other emergency response services


 


 


The Health and Safety Coordinator must have:



  • Bachelors of Science in Environmental Safety, or closely related field

  • 3-5 years of industry experience

  • Experience with chemistry and industrial hygiene practices are essential 

  • Understanding hazzard risk assessment tools
