Job Description :

Automotive OEM has an exciting opportunity for a Regulations Specialist with experience in the transportation of dangerous/hazardous goods.  Salary is DOE for this long-term contract opportunity in Center Line.


Knowledge of 49CFR; DOT; IATA; frustrated shipping; dangerous goods.


The successful candidate will be expected to:

-Maintain open and frequent communication with team lead and program/department manager;

-Support quarterly program scope planning, budget development and cost management;

-Maintain all records and documents in order to demonstrate compliance with applicable              regulatory if necessary.

-Have strong customer service skills;

-Have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements/issues into terms readily understood.  Able to prepare clear     and concise, accurate reports, correspondence and other materials;

-Consistently demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and integrity in situations       involving minimal to no guidance and supervision;

-Be detail-oriented with excellent time management skills;

-Have Strong decision-making skills, and strong relationship-building and networking skills;

-Be able to travel moderately.


Minimum of one (1) year of automotive related experience.


Working knowledge of an effective dangerous goods transportation program.


One (1) year of experience in reviewing, monitoring and communicating on hazardous materials or dangerous goods transportation regulatory matters.


Prefer candidate with some experience in project planning and execution, including effectively delegating assignments as appropriate.


Ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups and regulatory personnel


Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with major course study in basic science, environmental science, engineering, law or other related field.


Preferred certifications (i.e. Hazmat Certification, DOT Certification, IATA certification, etc.), not required


Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Outlook.
