Our client, a large chemical manufacturer, wants to add a few good Greenhouse Technicians to their team at their facility in Research Triangle Park, SC

 

This is a short-term contract role (possible extension or direct hire) with a pay rate of $20.40 hourly. (Benefits Available) 

 

Job Description & Key Responsibilities



Are you passionate about plant science and eager to work in an environment where your contributions make a difference? Join our team as a Greenhouse Technician and take part in essential agricultural research and crop production activities.

 



  • Perform general greenhouse tasks, including:

    • Making pots and flats.

    • Planting, watering, fertilizing, and maintaining plants.

    • Tying/trimming plants for upkeep.

    • Seed harvesting, threshing, and counting.



  • Maintain clean and organized greenhouses and work areas.

  • Assist in the collection of plant tissue samples.

  • Utilize data management tools to collect and record data under supervision.

  • Implement pest control measures, including:

    • Insect scouting and beneficial organism release.

    • Pesticide/herbicide application.

    • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.



  • Comply with Stewardship, Biosafety, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.

  • Operate equipment and maintain accurate documentation.



 
Required Qualifications :
 

Qualifications:




  • Required:



    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Ability to work in hot, humid environments and stand for extended periods.

    • Strong attention to detail and responsibility.




  • Preferred:



    • Associate's/Technical degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields.

    • Experience working in a greenhouse or field environment.
