Our Client is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Oshkosh, WI.




This is a long-term  contract role with a pay rate of  $52.45.  Possible extension or direct hire. 


Position Overview:
Oshkosh Defense is looking for an Engineer – Electrical with expertise in electrification hardware integration. The candidate will support the design, analysis, and development of reliable, functional, and cost-effective electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to innovative projects in the defense industry.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks in accordance with industry standards and processes under the guidance of Senior Engineers

  • Assist in the preparation of electrical plans, designs, and reports for vehicle systems and subsystems

  • Support design and re-design of electrical parts/components to meet quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturing specifications

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, on various engineering tasks

  • Provide technical assistance during prototype, pilot, or production builds, resolving manufacturing issues as needed

  • Support the development and documentation of change notices, proposals, and engineering prints

  • Ensure compliance with safety and high voltage system standards

  • Regular attendance and participation in team meetings and reviews

Required Qualifications :
 

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with internship experience OR six (6) months of related work experience

  • Electrification hardware integration experience (e.g., generators, inverters, converters)

  • Understanding of high voltage systems and high voltage safety protocols


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience creating one-line architecture diagrams

  • Familiarity with programming languages and controls software

  • Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or vehicle networking

  • Experience in automotive or heavy equipment design and repair

  • Wire harness design experience
