Configuration Specialist $25.00 an hour

Position Summary:  
Configures, tests, documents and maintains benefit package and reimbursement system configuration.  Assists in maintaining a master library of documents including Certificates of Coverage, Benefit Summaries, Summary Plan Descriptions, regulatory filing documents and benefits/reimbursement policy.  Prepares and maintains “job aids” for interdepartmental distribution.  Participates in regulatory filings.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


1.    Translates benefits and reimbursement requirements into functional specifications for system configuration.


2.    Configures, tests, documents and maintains benefits and reimbursement system configuration; ensures code sets used for configuration of benefits and reimbursement are current


3.    Assists in maintaining a master library of documents including Certificates of Coverage, Benefit Summaries, Summary Plan Descriptions, regulatory filing documents and benefits/reimbursement policy


 


4.    Prepares and maintains interdepartmental job aids and training materials related to benefits and reimbursement.


 


5.    Participates in annual Medicare, Exchange and Commercial insurance filings.


 


6.    Participates in software upgrade testing activities


 


7.    Assists in developing and maintaining department procedures and staff training tools.


 


8.    Provides training and support to Configuration Specialist I team members as needed.


 



*** Looking at Temp to Perm contractors  to work a full 13 weeks and convert to a McLaren Employee. 





  • Associates degree in computer science, business, or health care related field - or equivalent from a four year college or technical school - Required 

  • CPC certified - Required 

  • 6+ years to include configuring, testing, documenting and maintaining benefits and reimbursement system configuration.  - Required 

  • Coding knowledge and experience with CPT, HCPCS, ICD9, CDT, Revenue, DRG and other relevant medical and industry-standard codes - Required 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of professional and institutional claims adjudication - Required
