Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Chemical Operator to join their production team. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining equipment, supporting chemical processes, and ensuring the quality and quantity of products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This contract position budgeted for 12 months (possibility of extension or direct hire for the right candidate) offers a starting pay rate of $$25-28.00/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain major plant equipment such as pumps, valves, filters, compressors, dryers, and screens.
- Perform loading and unloading of tank trucks and rail cars.
- Conduct analytical testing to ensure product quality and quantity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues to prevent shutdowns.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment following safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Participate in system improvement processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Support team members in various operational activities as required.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00PM
Overtime when needed.
A Production Technician in the Manufacturing Unit works from specific verbal and/or written instructions to operate the appropriate process equipment to produce a consistent product.
Major Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads process equipment
- Operates process equipment to maintain product within customer specifications
- Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area
- Follows all safety regulations
- Operate forklift
- Maintain lot integrity by keeping accurate batch/run sheets
- Knowledge of safety regulations associated with a chemical operation
- Knowledge of proper material handling procedures
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Able to work in hot or cold environments
- Ability to stand extended amounts of time
Required Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a production manufacturing environment (3 years as a chemical operator preferred).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and SAP knowledge.
- Safety Standards: Commitment to maintaining safety, housekeeping, and attendance standards.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work 24/7 rotating shifts.
- Lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
- Work from heights or in small, contained areas.
- Wear personal protective equipment, including face masks/shields.
