Job Description :
Our client is looking for a Test Fabrication Support Technician to work with their team in Wixom, MI. 

This contract position is expected to run through the end of 2021 (possibility of contract extension or direct hire for the right candidate) and offers a pay rate of $22/Hour.


At our client’s Wixom site, they age and test catalytic converters using customer supplied test stand and vehicle procedures. Employees set up engines, dynamometers, and other equipment for engine-based catalyst aging and vehicles emission measuring equipment for EPA-related chassis roll testing.

As a Test Fabrication Support Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring test catalysts are modified as needed to support required testing. This includes changes to accommodate instrumentation and fit.

In addition, you may have responsibilities associated with the ongoing maintenance and possible repair of various test facilities and/or equipment.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Perform the test part modifications as defined

  • Complete light fabrication work as needed

  • Assist with the repair and maintenance and calibration of various mechanical equipment, including: 

    • Engine and/or Chassis Roll Dynamometers 

    • Test Cell and/or Dyno controllers 

    • Welding and pipe fabrication 

    • Routine vehicle and/or Engine maintenance 

    • Vehicle exhaust system components

  • Must be able to utilize general shop equipment, e.g. band saw, drill press, grinders and power hand tools.



Schedule will be determined by skill set and experience (could be 1st, 2nd or 3rd).

All candidates will start out on 1st shift for training.


1st Shift 7 AM - 3:30 PM

2nd Shift 3 PM - 11:30 PM

3rd Shift 11 PM - 7:30 AM

Required Qualifications :


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required

  • Minimum of 5 years related fabrication/welding experience desired 

  • Work experience with engines, mechanical systems, test systems is desired 

  • Must be computer literate, familiar with basic MS Office Suite tools, (Excel, Word, Outlook)
